Fair result my arse

Even Shearer said Carews goal should've been given. Not seen so many scrambled clearances in one match. Bodes well for you not going down though, scrambling last ditch defending like that should get you out of trouble.

But with Carew and Young up top we look better, really looking forward to the WHU game. - Jon Law

Lucky Newcastle

From what MOTD and Five Live said, Newcastle were lucky to get any points let alone 3.

Many people have told me today that Carew was being fouled so how his goal was disallowed beats me.

The Barcodes are bound to say it's a fair result but any true football fan (and anyone at the game) will know they were lucky and only Steve Harper stopped them losing. - Luke

There was more good than bad from what I saw on MOTD. Attacking, feisty spirit, good goal etc so I think there is plenty to reflect on with satisfaction. As for not taking away points, it's not always the better team that wins. - Chief

I don't hear anyone moaning, just praise for the Villa, and in particular the new boys. We'll finish above the Slagpies by the end of the season, - IPBOPMALIK

Good match anyhow

I haven't seen Villa this "powerful" in a long time. Carew was outstanding, simply stunning, and with him up top we maintained a solid pressure troughout big periods of the match.

A shame that we started out the match with both legs left in the locker-room, but I got a good feeling about this ...

Young also very positive, but him and Gabby together up front won't ever work. We need a Carew or Sutton by their side, and finally I also wanna say that it was a fresh appearance from Berger who've been sidelined for a decade. He sure has a solid overview. - Rimkus

If he had more money i would be rich, if aston villa had better defenders they wouldnt concede, if newcastle didnt have so good attackers they wouldnt score, if aston villa had better attackers they would score more... Get over it, it was a fair result! - Valle
